1. Overview
Ad Tag Analyzer is a Chrome extension that helps users inspect advertising tag events, trigger sources, and related ad/tracking network activity on pages they visit.
2. Data Processed
When enabled, the extension may process:
- ad tag event names and event metadata (such as trigger type and timing),
- detected tag identifiers (such as GTM, GA, Meta Pixel, and Amazon AAT IDs),
- script source references and stack traces (when available),
- selected request metadata (URL patterns and methods) for ad/tracking endpoints.
3. How Data Is Used
Data is used only to:
- render the event/debug timeline in the extension popup,
- analyze tag behavior (including duplicate and crossover patterns),
- help users debug tag implementation issues.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Data is stored locally in the browser using Chrome extension storage and in-memory tab state.
- Data is not intentionally transmitted by this extension to external servers.
- Users can clear local session data from within the extension.
5. Data Sharing
- No sale of personal information.
- No sharing of extension-captured data with third parties by this extension.
6. User Controls
Users can:
- clear captured events using the extension’s

- disable or uninstall the extension at any time through Chrome.
7. Security
We aim to minimize retained data and keep processing local to the user’s browser environment.
